Veteran Statistics in Ukraine

As of July 25, 2024:

  • Total number of veterans: approximately 1.3 million
  • 80% are mobilized individuals

According to Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the image of the modern veteran has significantly changed, requiring the development of modern infrastructure to support them. Support for Veterans

Currently, we have a budget of 5.7 billion UAH. We have created a mechanism by which these veterans will receive compensation for housing rent. Also, over 220,000 electronic veteran ID cards have been generated in the 'Diia' app. Technical issues related to documents are currently being resolved.

Government Programs

Housing Program:

5.7 billion UAH for purchasing housing for veterans.

About 2,500 individuals will receive monetary compensation for housing in 2024.

Medical Assistance:

The dental assistance program has been expanded.

The maximum cost of assistance: 24,952 UAH.

Social Assistance for Children of Fallen Defenders:

The amount of payments has been increased since April 1, 2024:

  • For one minor: 7,800 UAH.
  • For families with two or more children: 6,100 UAH for each child.

Prosthetics Program Update

According to Tokareva, the prosthetics program has been revised. From now on, prosthetics can be provided to:

  • Individuals with established disabilities
  • Individuals undergoing the process of establishing disability

Veteran Adaptation Standards

New Developments:

In June, the veteran adaptation standard was approved.

We cooperate with all categories: military personnel, veterans, those who have returned from captivity, as well as their families. We learn about their needs—from psychological support to housing search or new employment.
